· How his travels impacted early Christianity
Saint Paul’s travels impacted on early Christianity as he attracted many disciples and followers on his journeys. Communities learned from him and were fascinated in what he had to say about Jesus and the Gospel. Paul preached to everyone, Gentiles, Jews, everyday people. He went to the Synagogues to speak to the Jews; he spoke to common everyday people in the market places and learners in halls. His message to everyone was that Jesus had come for all and there were places in the Christian community for everyone and anyone who put their faith in Jesus, the risen Lord. Paul’s first missionary journey impacted on early Christianity because when the journey ended, it ended in Jerusalem where he shared and expressed his opinion that everyone, both Gentiles and Jews should here about Jesus in the Council of Jerusalem.
· How his letters impacted early Christianity
Paul wrote letters to many churches and communities such as the Corinthians, Romans, and the Thessalonians. He talked to people about current problems and situations and how they should think and live their lives as followers of Jesus. Paul wrote letters to the Romans about how you should not hold grudges against people and situations which hurt you, and to act with kindness towards them. The letters he wrote to the Corinthians were often about respecting one another and everyone around you, and to realise that everyone is equal – no one is better than another person. In his letters to the Thessalonians, he mostly wrote to them about not to fight one another and to live in peace amongst yourself and others. All these messages that he often wrote to these communities, impacted early Christianity as it taught others and the readers of his letters a loving way of living and how Jesus wanted not just his followers, but everyone to abide by.
